تاسست كلية التمريض في العام 2006 في عهد الاستاذ الدكتور عبد الرزاق عبد الجليل رئيس جامعة الكوفة وعين اول عميد للكلية وهو الاستاذ الدكتور عبد الكريم عبد الله محمود ليكون عميد للكلية ..... ان رسالة كلية التمريض تهدف في المساهمة في وضع كلية التمريض - جامعة الكوفة مع الكليات الاخرى للجامعات المتقدمة ذات التميز العلمي بما يتيح لها الاعتراف القومي .. وان تكون الكلية قادرة على تخريج ممرضة وممرض ماهر قادر على منافسة اسواق العمل المحلية والاقليمية وان يسهمو بما يقدمهو من ابحاث علمية في حل مشاكل التمريض بصفة خاصة ومشاكل المجتمع بصفة عامة
